We ended up sharing a laugh over my dropped coffee, and as the LGBT pride sticker on his bag caught my eye, a giddy nervousness washed over me, but seeing his genuine openness made me feel brave enough to ask for his number. Now, every time we ride the train, my shy starter feels like a silly memory as we hold hands, a sweet testament to overcoming that initial hesitation and fully embracing our gay love. It’s funny how a simple subway ride can turn into the beginning of everything when you find someone who makes your LGBT heart sing.
